A Federal High Court in Abuja has again refused to grant bail to suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Aba Kyari for his release on bail. Continue Reading
The Federal Government is prosecuting the former head of the police’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) over allegations of drug smuggling.
Following the rejection of his bail request, Kyari will remain in Kogi prison pending his trial on the charges against him.
While ruling on Kyari’s bail application, the trial judge, Judge Emeka Nwite, said that the reasons given for the bail application were addressed in the earlier application, which was rejected.
The judge then fixed October 19, 20, and 21 for resumption of the trial.
