Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting global health and economic initiatives in Nigeria. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.

To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position below:

 

Job Title: Finance & Administrative Assistant

Location: Taraba

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for the provision of accounting, administrative, and logistical support services to AHNi State Offices.
  • S/He will assist in the preparation of monthly financial report forms, which accompany executed sub-awardee project documents, attend to all administrative functions in the Finance unit, prepare monthly reporting/ budgets data entry into excel spreadsheets and automated MIS reports and disseminate information to AHNi State offices/HQ.
  • Also, s/he will manage and ensure quality in all GF events logistics – Reservations (Accommodation/Flights/Venue etc.), meals, event materials, attendance, support finance with needed information’s/documents to make prompt participants payment, support in the State office’s procurement process including, but not limited to, purchase requests, prequalifying vendors, soliciting quotes, collating quotation/bids from prequalified/potential vendors, the vendor selection process through receipt and payment for goods and/or services etc.

Minimum Recruitment Standard  

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Experience with administrative and secretarial skills
  • Sound accounting skills
  • Experience with large complex organization is required, familiarity with international NGOs preferred.

 

 

 

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Abuja

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for accounting and finance and overall operational administration for the PR Office and ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of Nigeria’s programs/projects with the objective of providing professional accountancy services consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • S/He will provide main support with operational problem resolution on HQ Office cash accounts, bank resolutions, finance systems, resolution of audited questioned costs, and financial close outs at the state level. Ensure the accurate keeping of all books of account for the HQ office, including checking account, equipment and supply registers and all accounting records.
  • Also, s/he will monitor/track SRs cash balance and work with the Associate Director-Finance to ensure prompt cash transfer to SRs and State Offices to avoid cash- out, ensure that project and organization assets are safe guarded and that assets registers are regularly updated at SR’s, State Offices and CO levels and oversee capacity building activities and other support to local implementing agencies (IAs) in the focus States.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • B.Sc / BA Degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 5 – 7 years relevant experience.
  • Or MSc / MA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in office management and administration.
  • CPA, ACA, ICAN, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is required.
  • Experience in managing financial records of donor-funded organizations, and familiarity with donor and local contractual procedures is an advantage.

 

 

 

Job Title: Senior Technical Officer – Prevention, Care & Treatment

Location: Anambra

Job Description

  • The STO – PCT will support in the provision of technical leadership in regards to clinical management of HIV/AIDS strategies and approaches in implementation of programs for the General and Key population.
  • S/He will Work with relevant stakeholders to coordinate the design and implementation of facility-based programs in relation to clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including the use of Anti-retroviral treatment, TB HIV services integration, PMTCT, KP services, care and support.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • MB.BS / MD / PHD or similar degree with 5 to 6 years relevant experience with at least 5 years progressive experience working in the health or development field in Nigeria
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in care and treatment for HIV/AIDS especially with ARV program.
  • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in project development, planning and facilitating technical training.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable

 

 

 

Job Title: Security Manager

Location: Abuja

Job Responsibilities

  • The Security Manager Will develop and coordinate the implementation of the project’s security plan, monitor and control the safety and security of Staff and assets of AHNi.
  • S/He will help to improve contextual analysis, support operational management and strengthen the security capacities of the project and supervise the Security Coordinator and Officer.
  • S/He will collect and analyze all security information, carry out a thorough analysis of the security situation in the current and potential areas of intervention and provide periodic update to Management.
  • Also, s/he will convene and participate in the review of  security  procedures for  the project/organization,  ensuring that  the elements of  the contingency plan are updated and support the admin/logistics department in monitoring movements.
  • The successful Candidate will develop and establish an effective and functioning communications system for security management within AHNi that is fully integrated into the UN Emergency Communications System.
  • S/He will identify, capture, synthesize and share lessons learned for knowledge development and build the capacity of staff and stakeholders as well as develop capacity-building initiatives to enhance the competencies of Staff/stakeholders on security-related preparedness and operations.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • B.Sc / BA qualification in International Relations, Security Management, Risk Management, Humanitarian Work with 8 to 9 years’ experience
  • Experience as Ex-Military – Nigeria, SSS or Nigeria Police
  • Experience in incident reporting, incident mapping, compilation of security reports and assessments
  • Experience in training and coaching national staff in safety and security
  • Technical competency and training experience in field-based communication systems, Thuraya and internet systems
  • Sound knowledge of humanitarian principals of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence
  • Nigeria experience and understanding local languages is an advantage.
  • Strong report-writing, analytical and interpersonal skills, competency in internet and Microsoft office systems  including word, excel, power-point, access and other database mapping systems.

 

 

 

Job Title: Senior Program Advisor

Job Description

  • Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, the SPA will provide support to and coordination in program planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of assigned project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Project’s technical leads and program management team to develop annual project level costed work plans
  • Work with technical leads, consortium partners and Program Support to review, collate, synthesize and edit periodic donor reports for assigned projects and ensure timely submission.
  • Ensure timely submission of periodic donor reports that meet donor standards (timeliness, accuracy and quality
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems that effectively respond to USAID / Nigeria requirements regarding implementation procedures, reporting and evaluation
  • Ensure close monitoring of workplans and budgets during the course of implementation; Ensures appropriate program monitoring and accurate financial and programmatic reporting to the State and Head Office
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring of sub grants to achieve financial, administrative, and programmatic goals by monitoring and enforcing compliance with donor and AHNi’s policies by both SOs and Partners.
  • Review SFRs and program reports from partners to monitor compliance with donor/prime award programmatic, contractual and financial regulations, requirements and restrictions
  • Work with Finance and Administration department and AHNi HO to process and ensure timely development and execution of annual amendments for consortium partners’ sub agreements.
  • Maintain an effective system for collecting, organizing and storage of essential project documentation for compliance, effective project management and dissemination of best practices.
  • Work with other departments to ensure documentation and easy retrieval of all training and trip reports related to assigned projects.
  • Work with Program Support to periodically evaluate implementation of approved annual work plans and budgets at Project level.
  • Assist in strengthening systems of reporting on program progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing and disseminating best practices in the project through the identification of project learning sites and technical support to the state government.
  • Remain informed on the current programs in the HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria fields by review of current literature and is alert to any implication of such strategic information for project activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc / BA in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 9 – 11 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Or MSC / MA Degree in public health, business administration, health sciences, behavioral sciences or its recognized equivalent with 7 – 9 years relevant experience with international development programs.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of health and development programming in a developing country.
  • Considerable experience in designing and implementing of public health/international development programs funded by US government or other international donors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, administrative, and financial management systems.
  • Working knowledge of major donor policies (USAID, Global Fund) as well as international not-for- profit organizations.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infection.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a multisectoral development project.
  • Excellent community mobilization, advocacy and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize systems to monitor administrative and implementation results.
  • Work independently with initiative to manage high volume workflow.
  • Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Interact with diplomacy and tact and follow-up on requests in timely and efficient manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25%.
