We put our legislators in legislative houses for the primary purpose of making laws for the good Governance of our country. That is what the constitution obliges them to do. If some fail in this primary duty but see nothing wrong with it, it means the constituency is reaping poor dividends from its handsome and backbreaking investments on that representative.
The inability of sponsoring meaningful bills, non attraction of developmental projects, and most importantly failing to contribute meaningfully to the debate on the floor of the house.
Beyond bills, the Senators have not proven to be active in various other ways, like championing the courses of their constituencies or being upfront on national issues.
We have never asked to know if we are reaping good dividends from our investments on the man we crowned distinguished Senator in our Constituency.
The Senate is a place where great politicians make their marks, not for bench-warmers.
The Rivers South-East Senatorial district is fortunate to have Ambassador Oji Ngofa, an experienced administrator and Diplomat, presenting himself for service,
stretching his best foot forward, working round the clock to sincerely leave a great legacy and striving to better the lots and fortunes of his people.
Ngofa believes, one of the ways to improve the well-being of his constituents is to be delibrate about using legislative instruments to develop and economically empower his district.
It has been said, if a leader has his legacy in mind, he will consistently be driven by a serious sense of purpose.
Ambassador Oji Ngofa’s eyes are set on higher goals of leading his Senatorial district to the path of greatness and purpose.
