Job Title: Lead, Institutional Sales

Location: Lagos (Partial Remote Authorized)
Job type: Permanent contract

Description

  • The Capital Markets team in Nigeria is responsible for the Company’s debt fund raising programme which is in turn used to finance the strong growth in FairMoney’s loan book as well as other needs.
  • The team was responsible for the successful launch of a N10 billion Private Note Programme in 2021; obtained 2 investment grade ratings in 2021; organised the inaugural investor conference for the firm.
  • Given FairMoney’s growth plans, we are scaling the Capital Markets team to further drive an ambitious local currency debt fund raising program. This is where you come in.
  • We will expect you to come brimming with creative ideas yet have the steady hands to run a debt capital raise process end-to-end with limited oversight. You would be hungry to leverage your existing experience to grow, build relevant relationships, and drive the big debt fundraising ambitions of FairMoney.

Responsibilities
We are waiting for you to join us and:

  • Responsible for 50 – 70% of FairMoney Nigeria’s balance sheet
  • Build and grow the Institutional Sales desk in FairMoney
  • Support the development & execution of Capital raising strategy and participate in capital market activities
  • Develop & manage strong pipeline of institutional investors and HNIs
  • Build and manage relationships with key decision makers across the various investor groups such as Pension Fund Managers, Fund Managers, Trustees, Insurers, Corporates, etc.
  • Deliver on fund raising targets
  • Develop and execute innovative funding structures for the company
  • Build a strong institutional sales team
  • Build capability of team members and mentor them
  • Conduct periodic competitive analysis and maintain comprehensive view of capital market industry performance
  • Lead the development of sales materials

Job Requirements

  • B.Sc Degree in any related field. An MSc in Finance, MBA, or other relevant certification is an advantage
  • 8 – 10 years professional experience ; experience in Institutional Sales within an Investment Bank/Asset Manager/Wealth Manager is preferred
  • Must have demonstrated ability to create sales/relationship opportunities with
  • clients, prospects and consultants in assigned market segments.
  • Excellent sales skills and knowledge of investment products; debt instruments such as (Bonds, Commercial paper, Notes)
  • Strong industry and HNI network
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Excellent communications & negotiation skill
  • Project management skills

Job Title: Treasury Officer

The Capital Markets team in Nigeria is responsible for the Company’s debt fund raising programme which is in turn used to finance the strong growth in FairMoney’s loan book as well as other needs.
Given FairMoney’s growth plans, the Company is hiring an experienced and dynamic Treasury officer. We will expect you to join the team with ideas on how to fully set-up a standard treasury operation for a digital bank.
We are waiting for you to join us and:

Set up a functional treasury department
Review and manage the company’s funding needs
Cash and liquidity management through cash flow planning and forecasting
Develop & execute ALM management strategy
Access FX risks and recommend performing appropriate hedging solutions where necessary
Develop and manage the Company’s investment portfolio strategy
Provide recommendation on target cost of funds
Establish and/or Manage relationship with the company’s bankers
Requirements

B.Sc in any related field. An MSc, MBA, or relevant certification is an advantage
5 – 8 years experience in Treasury Management preferably in a Bank or Financial Institution
In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian Financial Markets
Experience in Liquidity & Cash Management.
Knowledge of liquidity guidelines for Banks and other financial institutions
Experience in Forex, Commodity & Interest Rate Exposure Management is an advantage
Knowledge of Treasury Operations and Accounting.
Knowledge of investment portfolio strategy, banking and financial instruments.
Sound analytical and presentation skills
Strong financial modelling and excel skills
Excellent Project management skills

Job Title: Financial Accountant

Job Description

  • You will be working as our Financial Accountant in our Finance Division which is now composed of 7 people worldwide.
  • You will be based in Lagos, Nigeria (currently our largest market) and working as well with our finance team based in Paris and India.
  • The Finance department at FairMoney is a key component in this mission to provide banking services to all consumers across emerging markets.
  • Finance drives the reporting, the strategic analysis and the financial operations to make FairMoney’s mission possible.

Responsibilities
We are waiting for you to work on:

  • Carrying out monthly postings, accurate calculation of monthly accruals/prepayments, including journal preparation;
  • Preparation and review of the monthly Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income (SOCI), the Statement of Financial Position(SOFP) and Statement of Cash Flow;
  • Preparing and maintaining intercompany reconciliation including calculation of monthly intercompany transfer/transactions and any resulting FX gain/lo
  • Facilitating the year end process by providing assistance with the preparation of the final account and the consolidated account;
  • Providing the necessary support for the statutory annual audit, regulatory audit and tax audits by making relevant schedules and source documents available on time;
  • Ensuring that the PAYE, Pension, WHT and VAT are appropriately deducted and remitted;
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and ensures that controls put in place to safeguard the company’s asset are complied with

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or numerate discipline degree;
  • A qualified accountant (ACCA / ICAN) is highly essential;
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years accounting experience in audit firms or firms in the financial service industry;
  • Experience in Fintech (with transaction volumes) would be an advantage;
  • Good analytical skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Have advanced Microsoft Excel Skills;
  • Have proven experience within an accounting department;
  • Be an effective team player with a positive attitude;
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better.

About the Role

  • The head of Government relations is responsible for supporting the engagement with the Government and the regulatory environment for FairMoney through thought leadership and trusted advice to the compliance and management team.
  • You would help lobby and influence regulators, industry organisations in policies, legislation and regulations for the lending and digital banking industry
  • The role supports the engagement with governments and helps to inform of political, legislative and regulatory developments; assesses the impact of potential actions on FairMoney and its customers.
  • The key objective of the role is to develop and execute an effective advocacy strategy with relevant government officials and policy makers. The Head of Government Affairs
  • The role reports directly to the CEO while compliance and Executive sponsors of business lines are clients.

Responsibilities

  • Research and monitor activities of government regulators within and outside the financial industry that could affect the organisations business activities
  • Actively influence policy directions of the Fintech and startup landscape
  • Anticipate policy directions that could affect any of the business verticals and proactively inform business heads to create workarounds
  • Develop local influencing plans at the state and national level aligned with FairMoney’s regulatory objectives
  • Coordinate with other Fintech players to drive a united front on topics that affect the industry
  • Join associations and industry committees and seeks leadership roles
  • Engage with policymakers, Fintech industry players, and thought leaders to shape policy and political dialogue on responsible technology policy and the impact it can contribute on the Nigerian economy.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s Degree
  • Good understanding of the financial technology landscape in Nigeria and comparable in other emerging markets;
  • Proven track record and minimum 10-15 years experience in all aspects of developing and implementing stakeholder relations strategies;
  • Experience either working with a government regulator or in an advisory role to a politician;
  • Experience developing thought leadership papers;
  • In-depth knowledge of the local business and political environments in Nigeria;
  • Political acumen, and the ability to balance commercial interests and social benefits;
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills to develop and maintain productive internal and external relationships.
