Job Title: Senior Manager, Health Behavior Change Communication (HBCC)

  • We are looking for an experienced Health Behaviour Change Communications (HBCC) Senior Manager to lead our  HBCC project. The position is based in the Abuja headquarters.
  • The position will lead HBCC project activities (Mass Media, New media, Digital media, Interpersonal communication etc.) at the field, with partner organizations, government agencies, advertisement agencies, media outlets, etc and reports to the Head of Programs.

Your Contribution

  • The position will lead HBCC project’s workplan development, project implementation, quality assurance, budget management, etc.
  • Supervise field staff and consultants.
  • Lead HBCC’s communications and media activities including but not limited to messages development, r
  • Review of HBCC messages, media placement for mass media, new media, IPC etc.
  • Coordinate knowledge sharing on HBCC interventions in the field
  • Coordinate dissemination activities for the HBCC project
  • Provide remote and in-person supervision of HBCC activities in the field to effectively manage, quality assure and use media outlets, messages, digital content
  • Manage the team in such a way that:
  • Messages over digital media are routinely tracked and correctional actions taken promptly.
  • Routinely oversee IEC materials development, adoption of existing messages and determination for media placement.

Coordination with External Stakeholders:

  • Coordinate engagement with media outlets, government agencies, partners etc
  • Represent the organization in external HBCC activities where applicable

What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in HBCC programming
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Mass Communications, Sociology, Marketing, Health Communication etc.)
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Mass Communications, Sociology, Marketing, Health Communications etc.) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with any of Mass Media, New media, Digital media, Interpersonal communication etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite
  • Language skills: Fluent English is essential. Working knowledge of any on the major Nigerian Languages will be an added advantage
  • Ability to travel locally up to 40%.

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
Data Management:

  • Strengthening organizational capacity in M&E methods and techniques.
  • Ensuring data management systems align with different projects strategies.
  • Ensuring that the electronic and paper-based platforms of data management meet donor requirement.
  • Capacity building for field officers on guidelines for effective data capturing and reporting.
  • Optimizing data documentation at health facility level by conducting Routine Data Quality Assurance (RDQA) exercises.
  • Routine progress update on key indicators.

Research:

  • Support the SRM&E Manager on all research activities
  • Generate insight through analysis of survey data for report development using software such as SPSS, STATA, etc.

What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with:

  • First Degree in a relevant field (Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Anthropology, Development Studies, Demography, Biological And Social Science etc)
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the field of M&E and/or at least 2 years supporting research or M&E activities
  • Have an understanding of medical ethics principles
  • Passionate about working on international health and development, with a focus on all reproductive health issues and/or non-communicable diseases.
  • Proven ability to work with people across diverse backgrounds.

Job Title: Senior Program Manager, Healthy Hearth Africa

  • We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to manage a multi-state Hypertension Screening program (Healthy Heart Africa) across 18 states in Nigeria.
  • The position will work with the program team at the Abuja headquarters and supervises 6 zonal program officers (1 in each geo-political zone) in Nigeria and reports to the Head of Programs. Sound like you? Read on.

Your Contribution
You will be responsible for the following:

  • Overall program management: The HHA Program Manager will lead PSI Nigeria’s efforts to define and implement the program’s indicators of success, develop teams’ capacity, and grow the culture of using routine monitoring data to continuously improve, and demonstrate accountability to our stakeholders.
    • Provide overall oversight of the HHA project, including planning, budgeting and forecasting, implementation, reporting, and supervision.
    • Serve as the lead liaison between all partners, including but not limited to the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), partner NGOs, CBOs etc
    • Monitor and ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all project activities and partners to ensure quality of service provision and alignment of priorities, including financial and programmatic oversight, administration and procurement, and regular on-site supervision visits
    • Serve as the focal point for engaging in policy dialogue with the FMOH and SMOHs on key issues relevant to service delivery including participation in key national working groups on NCDs
    • Lead quarterly work planning meetings with FMOH, zonal officers, state teams and CBOs including capacity building and technical assistance
    • Oversee the development of high-quality reports.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervise HHA Zonal Program officers: Manage zonal officers leading the development and implementation of results framework and monitoring plans for tracking performance of the program at the Health Facilities, Local Governments, and States Ministries of Health.
  • Data for performance management: Lead on implementation of a strategy to promote use of data to inform performance management decision-making by the zonal officers as they supervise implementation in each state.
  • Information systems & technology innovation: Support implementation of information systems (in particular, DHIS2) to provide relevant, timely and high-quality routine monitoring data for the program.
  • Leadership and management: Provide remote and in-person supervision of hypertension screening activities as well as manage the team in such a way that:
    • Team members feel valued and have continuous capacity building.
    • Routine program implementation, monitoring and budget management.

What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with:

  • Medical Degree from a recognized institution
  • Master’s Degree (preferably in Public Health, Statistics, Project Management, or other health related areas) will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 11 years’ experience in project management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing relationships with governmentsand other stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite
  • Technical knowledge of Nigeria health system as well as solid understanding of hypertension related issues an advantage
  • Language skills: Fluent English is essential.

Job Title: Healthy Hearth Africa Zonal Programme Officer

  • Serve as the liaison between all partners, including but not limited to the States Ministries of Health (SMOH), States Primary Health Care Development Board (SPHCDB), States Hospital Management Board (SHMB), local government health departments and partner community-based organizations (CBOs) in the respective states

  • Lead quarterly review meetings with LGA coordinators and health facility providers including capacity building and technical assistance.

Requirements
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Health-related field (Medicine, Public health, Nursing, Epidemiology, Anthropology, Development, Demography, Statistics, etc) and/or
  • A registered Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Community Health Officer (CHO) with at least 3 years of working experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Language skills: Fluency in English, working knowledge of local languages in the geopolitical zone

  • Ensure availability of data collection tools (Health Facility Registers in all service areas, Monthly summary Forms, client cards etc.) at all supported health facilities in collaboration with M&E and HMIS Managers
  • Provide on-site mentoring to service providers during data collection to enhance proficiency in record keeping.
  • Verify and retrieve monthly summary forms of routine data at supported health facilities for entry into the DHIS2.
  • Ensure all supported health facilities service data are collected and entered into DHIS2 on or before the 5th of every month.
  • Ensure that all supported health facilities (where applicable) maintain Client Based Record Management (CBRM) confidentiality and practice using client unique identifier code, filing system etc.
  • Conduct quarterly data quality assurance (DQA) in ALL facilities where routine data are being collected.
