Your Mission

  • To manage, develop and administer Supply Chain activities within the West Africa & Sub Sahara region. This role encompasses responsibility for Project Resale materials and inter-company purchases.
  • To provide procurement expertise and leadership, contribute to development of strategy and policy, drive continuous improvement, and sustained high performance.
  • To adapt purchasing strategies through effective vendor relationship management, contract & project management, as well as maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers.

  • Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s) as necessary.
  • Perform bid analysis and make recommendations.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and contracts including commercial and contractual terms.
  • Mitigate risk during supplier selection and negotiation.
  • Develop supplier relationships including provision of performance metrics.
  • Develop a supply base compatible with company objectives and future needs.
  • Provide support to internal customers on all third party and logistics related issues.
  • Manage and undertake administration of procurement procedures including use of SAP.
  • Mitigate invoice queries and resolve payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all regional and global policies, procedures and quality accreditations.
  • Provide regular reports and metric data as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all areas of supply chain activity and participate in improvement initiatives throughout the organisation.
  • Promote integrity, professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Leverage global supply chain resources and knowledge to deliver best in class solutions.
  • Develop, and assist with the development of, new policies, procedures and strategies and drive compliance within the organisation.
  • Manage inter-company purchases in line with corporate objectives.
  • Manage logistics and inventory in line with Project requirements to minimise cost, increase efficiency and reduce obsolescence.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including import/export tariffs and documentation, trade compliance, customs and revenue.
  • Manage and undertake expediting activities across all third party and inter-company supply chains.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a relevant field of study.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a position with responsibility for procurement of:
    • 3rd Party Project resale materials and services
    • Negotiation of agreements including terms & conditions
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, regulations and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of contract types, contractual terms and conditions and experience of negotiating and developing contracts with suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience of international sourcing and development of global supplier relationships.
  • Strong team player with experience of participation in cross functional team improvement activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation and across all disciplines.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to make decisions and manage time effectively.
  • Sound understanding of other business functions, particularly Project Management and Finance.
  • Experience of using integrated ERP systems including modern procurement tools such as SRM.

Qualifications
About You:

  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering will be an added advantage.
  •  A good University degree.
  • 6 to 8 years relevant experience in Nigeria.
  • Knowledge/experience of low voltage and medium voltage equipment.
  • Experience in finding business partners, support onboarding and manage new partners Supporting business partners selling into his/ her segment.
  • Experience in managing sales and orders targets and reporting in a matrix environment.

Your Mission

  • We are currently seeking a talented Commercial Tender Engineer to support our Control & Safety and Telemetry business streams within the Process Automation (PA) business unit in our Lagos office.
  • Working as part of the fast – paced Tendering team, the ‘ Commercial ‘ Tender Engineer(s) will hold a critical position within the Sub Saharan Africa pre sales process and have the proven ability to interpret high level scope requests as well as complex Tenders and prepare technical, execution, costing and offer documentation consistent with bid strategy.
  • As such, you will have full responsibility for the ‘end to end’ bid process with a core focus on cost and risk underpinned by a proven level of technical & project delivery knowledge. You’ll have the tenacity to drive all contributing resources to meet tight deadlines and the talent to compile compelling proposals underpinned by all associated governance and cadence.
  • The Tender Engineer will have accountability for all technical, financial and commercial content, managing contributing resources to meet tight deadlines to develop a winning bid aligned to an agreed strategy.

  • Manage a multiple workload to meet required deadlines, with the ability to adapt to meet changing priorities.
  • Own the total response for all assigned Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ), request for Proposal / Quotation (RFP / RFQ) and general proposal submissions.
  • Analyze technical specifications and associated documentation, liaising directly with Customers (& EPC’s) to qualify scope, as required.
  • Understands and can effectively communicate opportunity strategy to all key stakeholders, highlighting areas of challenge to be addressed.
  • Formulate and publish bid plans, engage required resources, and agree contributor deadlines, driving progress through to completion via initial ‘Kick Off’ meeting & subsequent update calls.
  • Report against assigned workload, highlighting issues and pro-active steps taken to resolve.
  • Drive cost optimization across Solution, Execution & Supply Chain; ensuring Solution is aligned to strategy, an appropriate mix of engineering resources are utilized and 3rd party costs are minimized.
  • Ensure Operational Risks & costs are reviewed, considering contractual Terms & Conditions; ensuring T&C’s are reviewed timely, in line with bid plan, with all financial documentation for review and approval, ensuring a balanced approach to sell, cost & risk, to maximize GM, in line with Deal Winning Strategy (DWS) ; utilizing appropriate business tools – Global Tendering Tool (GTT) / Contract Quote Authorization (CQA) / Costing Work Book (CWB) / PA Opportunity Review Template (ORT).
  • Prepare appropriate written response to each enquiry, ensuring peer review and accuracy of solution, execution & commercial content as well as all requested supplementary documentation, in the required format(s).
  • Plan, schedule & lead all required Commercial (CQA) and Operational (MPO) approval calls in line with process and Delegation of Authority (DoA), ensuring required documentation is submitted on time to support successful ‘first-time‘ approval, to meet required submission deadlines.
  • Take ownership of and provide answers to any subsequent internal / external requests for clarification.
  • Drive governance and compliance with SE company and local business standards and procedures to meet required deadlines.
  • Support the Opportunity Leader during customer negotiations, as required.
  • Engage with internal departments to allow timely proposal handover, post order receipt.
  • Proactively contribute to Win / Loss Analysis reviews and adopt ‘Best Practice’ to improve both process and behaviors.

Qualifications
About You:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a relevant field of study.
  • Proven experience within a Commercial Tendering role coupled with a technical engineering background and strong project execution knowledge.
  • Technical knowledge shall include either DCS / Safety / PLC / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications as well as Software License Selection & an understanding of Cyber Security.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of common MS Office applications in addition to MS Teams and MS Planner as well as ideally, Bridge Front Office (BFO).
  • Willing to perform additional duties, as required, to support the pre-Sales function.
