(Electoral)E-COVID-23 VIRUS WREAKS HAVOC IN THE “EMPEROR’S” DOMAIN IN RIVERS STATE – CHIEF OJIKE J AKIRI
We have chosen as metaphor, the COVID virus, to illustrate the state of hysteria and panic that has enveloped and invaded every facet of action by the Rivers State Government in this pre-electoral year 2022. Alas, the fatidic year 2023, remains their foremost preoccupation, and all the sycophantic and advisory winning ways’ THINK-TANKS solicited and unsolicited, are jostling for visibility!
The DNA of this particular strain of the virus is essentially wrapped up in a Genetic Molecular Sequence of DDD, where D stands for DECEIT OR DUPLICITY.
We must recall that it was some of our witty and humoristic cartoonists, who first launched the sobriquet “Papa Deceive Pikin” for the People’s Democratic Party. This was soon to be widely amplified in usage, by notable actors in the Polity. Sadly enough, the Party has continued to live up to that notorious billing in contradictory self-destruct and incoherent self-justification.
In its current state, our hypothetical E-COVID-23 virus, is in R/S particularly characterized by the following symptoms:
1) Acute and acerbic Atikuphobia, beyond the acceptable norms and confines of democratic opponency;
2) It is further characterized by a morbid fear of the APC in particular, and the opposition parties in general. In this vein, there is a paranoidal yearning for ONE PARTY ballot paper, with only the All Network puppety SIM, resplendently and exclusively arrayed on the ballot paper.
The Atikuphobia symptom of E-COVID-23 does not interest us here, as we must sincerely confess that we do not even pray that our “researchers” should evolve a potent and efficacious vaccine, for mitigating or neutralizing its effect. This is because we know that Atiku himself is a believer in undiluted northern hegemony, and is not an ardent scholar of the Philosophy of Unity in Diversity, otherwise known as Rotational Presidency.
For the second symptom, the “Emperor” has continued to rely on the “Courtocratic” immune vaccine, for eliminating the opposition and putting them in chaotic disarray. But it may be extremely naif on their part, to believe that their strategy, if really it is one, is unknown to Nigerians including those living outside R/S. The shenanigans are no secret, as we can see it succinctly captured here by Yemi Adebowale of THIS DAY Newspaper.
Let’s hear him:It is preposterous that a ruling party in a state would drag the governorship candidates of almost all opposition parties to court, to question how they emerged, and a court of law would allow the nonsense to stand.
That is the dangerous political trend ongoing in Rivers State, courtesy of garrulous Governor Nyesom Wike-led Peoples Democratic Party.
This governor has been exploiting Nigeria’s kinked courts to unleash judicial mayhem on governorship candidates of leading opposition parties in the state. This is aimed at destabilising them and ensuring that these parties have no candidates in the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Wike does not want any strong opposition for his puppet, the PDP’s governorship contender, Siminialaye Fubara._
Not to worry, the APC with its dependable team of SANs and experienced Lawyers, has again offered them no solace, as the buoyancy of the “Cash and carry justice Supermarket” has been rendered desolate and ineffectual.
Tongues are now beginning to wag, and questions are being asked to the utter embarrassment of these errant Judges: what is left of your intellectual integrity, when the “rulings” of your Court are most times upturned and collapse like a pack of cards in the Court of Appeal?
The Nigerian Judicial Council will soon review some of the cases involving some of these Judges, who for filthy lucre prefer to defecate in the Sacred Temple of Mother Justice.
There is no doubt that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, The Hon Justice, Tajudeem Olukayode Aruwoola, will henceforth voluntarily distance himself from any cases involving the PDP, Rivers State, and any other Parties for that matter, given all the furious demonstrations that took place in Abuja, and the volumes of reactions calling for his resignation. This is sequel to what a palpably pissed up Commentator, Farooq Kperogi, described as “the partisan and embarrassingly saccharine extolments of Governor Wike” by the CJN during the sumptuous dinner organized in his honour at the Banquet Hall of Govt House PH.
And so, we may deduce from the foregoing that the Rivers PDP should now be understandably Court-weary and stop the resort to frivolous and laughable suits, while resolving itself once and for all, to meet it’s political opponents on a level turf.
For the teeming sons and daughters of R/S, It is now irrevocably sealed that our rare gem, Arch Tonye Patrick Cole, a Gentle man, sound and versed in learning; a Leadership Fellow of the prestigious Oxford University; voted this year’s Nigerian Businessman of the Year, and only recently sitting over a vast Energy Conglomerate worth over ONE Trillion Naira, MUST feature on the ballot. Glory be to God.
There will therefore be no hiding place for the unfittable SIM of no familiar Service Provider.
EXECUTIVE ORDERS 21 and 22, are now known to be dead on arrival, in spite of the robotic endorsement as usual, by the regrettably predictable Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Inspector General of Police has warned, that no Government of any State in the Federation, including of course the Rivers State, should be construed to be restraining the operational space of any other Political party, under whatsoever guise or pretext.
Alright, take for instance, during our NPN days between 1978 and 1979, we had our office located in a Bungalow generously volunteered by a Real Estate Mogul of those days, Chief Ranami Abah of blessed memory. It was for him a gladdening gesture, intended to pull through the party in its teething period at no cost.
So why is the Rivers State Government harassing Political Parties, whose offices may be located in so-called Government residential areas. We are pretty sure that the E-COVID-23 will be eradicated in Rivers State, by the end of the Gubernatorial Elections in 2023.
Then we shall relish the famous breath of fresh air, as we say welcome to Arch Tonye Cole, mni, in Brick House, while we bid farewell to the ill-orchestrated dynasty of our awe inspiring “Emperor” with his Non-Integrous, but alas presumably “Integrity” Group of 5.
