Job Title: Shift Technician
Location: Jos, Plateau
Function: Supply Chain
Reports To: Shift Supervisor – Cereals
Purpose of Job
- To optimize the performance of machinery and equipment. Designing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies and activities across all plants, reducing breakdowns and ensuring equipment availability, reliability and maintainability.
Key Accountabilities
- Development, implementation and review of maintenance schedules-Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Annual checklist to eliminate equipment breakdown and downtime in plants.
- Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns as well as performing repairs.
- Establish, implement and review maintenance policies, strategies and plans in compliance with safety regulations.
- Development of local methods and /or sources of fabricating spares and machinery to reduce the dependency on spares’ import.
- Implement approved technical projects-production facilities re-design, installation of new plants and equipment and commissioning in line with global standards.
- Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
- Identify areas of improvement, innovation and implement approved request to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Update necessary reports, records
Education and Experience
- Trade test, NABTEB, OND, HND or related qualification in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a reputable manufacturing/production company with hands-on in welding, fitting, machining and general mechanical functions.

Purpose of Job
- Responsible for optimal running of Richfil plant, ensuring target plant KPI’s are attained and sustained whilst ensuring minimal deviation in weight per SKU, right packaging is used, and correct coding on packed products.
Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:
- Ensure milled products meet the desired specification.
- Ensure raw materials are weighed and processed according to the Recipe.
- Ensure the agreed mixing time of 20mins is observed.
- Monitoring of rotary sifter and cleaning of perforated screen when required.
- Regular inspection of operational equipment to ensure they are in good condition
Maintenance:
- Ensure efficient operation of plant and equipment.
- Perform routine operations maintenance of Plant equipment.
- Report any identified anomaly to the Shift Supervisor.
- Support technical maintenance.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain Quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ensure the right packaging materials are used with correct coding.
- Ensure regular cleaning of Magnet and sifter screen.
- Ensure correct handling of products at various stages of manufacturing.
- Always ensure good housekeeping of plant.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment.
Health, Safety and Welfare:
- Ensures health, safety and welfare of employees are assured so that organizational objectives can be optimally met.
- Participate in safety and 5S audits and follow through on closeout of action points.
- Ensure working conditions are safe for operations.
- Report Unsafe conditions, Near Miss and Unsafe acts and encourage others to do same using the Safety Observation Cards and inform the Supervisor.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Ensure that departmental organization has the continuous availability of sufficient motivated and well-trained personnel.
- Train and guide new employees and OSP’s in your team on the Job.
- Challenge team members to perform at their peak.
- Maintain internal communication.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure that breakdowns are promptly arrested to promote the achievement of targets.
- Ensure that Production line efficiencies are maintained.
- Ensure set targets of Key Performance Indicators are met (Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Volume, etc.)
Education and Experience
- Minimum of OND (or its equivalent) in Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in related field.

Job Title: Extruder Operator
Location: Jos, Plateau
Function: Supply Chain
Reports To: Shift Supervisor – Cereal
Purpose of Job
- Responsible for the optimal running of the twin screw extruder in the BFC plant, ensuring correct assembly and setting of Die, Pressure plate, Cutter, etc, and temperature controls.
Key Accountabilities
Production:
- Ensure products meet the desired specification.
- Ensure correct assembly of extruder components (Die, Pressure plate, Cutter etc.)
- Ensure proper regulation of extrusion temperatures.
- Monitor and adjust cutter speed appropriately to deliver correct size of extrudate.
- Ensure feeding of Extruder with the right quantity of material consistently.
- Regular inspection of operational equipment to ensure they are in good condition.
Maintenance:
- Ensure efficient operation of plant and equipment.
- Perform routine operations maintenance of Extruder
- Perform regular cleaning of Die and Pressure plate as is necessary.
- Always ensure availability of spare die and pressure plate on ground.
- Report any identified anomaly to the Shift Supervisor.
- Support technical maintenance.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain Quality assurance to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ensure the right size of extrudate is consistently delivered.
- Ensure regular cleaning of Extruder.
- Ensure correct handling of products at various stages of manufacturing.
- Always ensure good housekeeping of plant.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment.
Health, Safety and Welfare:
- Ensures health, safety and welfare of employees are assured so that organizational objectives can be optimally met.
- Participate in safety and 5S audits and follow through on close out of action points.
