Erasmus Mundus 2023 Master’s Scholarship in Journalism
The Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation welcomes applications from undergraduate students around the world You can apply for admission to the Mundus Journalism programme and for a Mundus scholarship within the same application process.
The Scholarships
The Mundus Journalism Consortium receives between 400 and 500 applications each year and accepts up to 80-90 students. Our students represent almost every continent and region of the world, as can be seen from the map below which shows the home countries of all of our students (marked in blue).
We expect to have 24 Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the 2023-25 programme. As a consequence, around 25% of those accepted on to the programme will be offered admission as scholarship students, while 75% will be offered self-funded places.
Important dates
The call for applications is open each year from the 1st of November until the 10th of January. You will be informed by the 1st of March, whether you have been selected for admission, or not, and whether you will be offered admission as a scholarship student, or as a self-funded student.
Admission requirements
In order to be admitted to the Erasmus Mundus Journalism Programme, applicants are required to fulfill the requirements listed in the boxes below.
As we receive between 400 and 500 applications each year, and as we can only admit 80-90 applicants, all applications are also evaluated in relation to specific selection criteria.
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee for the whole two-year Mundus Journalism master’s programme is known to be low compared to other European MA programmes. Furthermore, you will not have to pay the entire amount at admission – instead the tuition fee will be invoiced in instalments of €4500 prior to each semester. For EU students the tuition fee will be invoiced for the second year of studies only, as there is no tuition for EU students at Danish universities due to national legislation.
Two-year tuition fee:
- Non-EU students: €18000
- EU students: €9000*
* Due to Danish legislations, Danish students can apply to get the tuition fee covered by the ‘Udlandsstipendieordning‘
How to apply to the Mundus Journalism master’s programme
In order to make the application process as smooth as possible, you can find each step explained below. In the flow diagram, you can get an overview of the process and in the boxes below, you will get detailed information about each of the documents required in the application package. Further below, you will find information about submission and the admission result.
Please note that you apply for admission to the Mundus Journalism programme and for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship within the same application process as this is integrated in the application form.
Application Form
Download and fill in the application form (pdf). The application form should be the first document within your application package. That will give the Consortium’s Selection Committee an overview of your personal, academic and journalistic background before they consider all your supporting documents.
Within the application form, you will find a section called Application Reflections. These reflections are related to your academic and journalistic past as well as your future career expectations. Though short, your answers will be evaluated thoroughly by the Selection Committee not only on content but also on writing style, quality and clarity, hence, we urge you to pay attention to this part.

The annual round of applications runs from 1 November to 10 January.
How to submit your application
Fill out the Online Registration, when you are ready to submit your application package, please fill out the Online Registration and attach your application package. When you have submitted your application successfully, you will receive an automatic confirmation email.
