FG Orders NPower to Increase Beneficiaries by Five Million

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development to increase beneficiaries of the N-Power programme by five million.
N-Power is a youth empowerment scheme of the Federal Government under the National Social InvestmentProgramme that provides a platform for skills acquisition and development for hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries.
Now there is room and opportunity for those who weren’t shortlisted.
The Npower Programme has become big and popular in the sense that everyone wants to apply and benefits from it even those who are gainfully employed.
The Programme has been designed to target Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 35 and aims to help young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills to become practical solution providers in their communities, enabling them to become innovative players in the domestic and global markets.
The N-power Programme by its description is a work and earn programme whereby the N-power Beneficiaries are paid for doing their assigned duties, and whereby a beneficiary who fail to abide by the stipulated guidelines, may be considered eligible to leave the programme.
For any Npower Volunteer to discharge his or her duties accurately, he/she must make use of the tools in the Npower work gadget. This is the reason why the Federal Government provides the necessary items that all volunteers must have to carry out his/her duty effectively.
Previous experiences from the batch A and B Volunteers show that some people may likely not be Shortlisted for the Npower Programme.
However, there are certain categories of people who can never be shortlisted for NPower Programme despite their efforts or qualifications.
These categories of people are:
- Those gainfully employed under any Government or private sector
- Those who are benefiting from other government programmes like NYSC, Nexit etc.
- Those who failed to follow up on the recruitment instructions for instance: participating in the NASIMS test and other subsequent proceedings.
- Those who applied but did not have the required documents to back their application.
- Exited Npower Volunteers.
