HEARTY CHEERS TO THE SUPER MINISTER OF THE DECADE, CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI

The Management and entire members of the Inter-ethnic Network for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Buhari, INCRAB, congratulate you the super performing Minister of the decade, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, following your resignation from the President Buhari-led cabinet in pursuit of a higher call for greater good.

While you held sway as Minister of Transportation, you brought a new level of zeal, passion and dedication to the discharge of your ministerial assignments that redefined patriotism and service to the nation. You stood out as a brand and a revitalizing force that inspired many around you and fostered enduring values and work ethics that promote the betterment of society with vigour and fervour to serve. You came with experience and determination to transform the nations transport sector and has left behind a silhouette of excellence and transformation. This was at the time when virtually every sub-sector under transportation was ailing and almost at the brink of collapse.

.

With poise and determination, you have made your marks and today, the once comatose railway sector is not only functional but about the most preferred and affordable means of transport for many Nigerians; the Maritime sector which hitherto only existed in papers is now a major global player in the Maritime industry; our once unsafe waterways have gained improved security with the deep blue project, not forgetting the dry inland ports and seaports which now have improved capacities to serve the public. Indeed, you revived and transformed the transportation sector making it the envy of other sectors in the country.

With your imprints littered all around the nations transport system with mega infrastructural projects initiated and delivered in record time, you easily emerged as the poster boy of President Buhari’s administration with many awards from local and international bodies affirming so. President Buhari further validated this position when he revealed during a function that he was always happy seeing your calls because they were always about projects.

Some of your giant strides in the transport sector include, purchase and usage of modern trains and coaches, construction and rehabilitation of the 186km Abuja- Kaduna rail line, the 284km Kano- Maradi rail line, the 2700km Lagos-Kano rail line, the 156km Lagos- Ibadan rail line, the 326km Warri – Itakpe rail line, the proposed 1400km Lagos- Calabar and the 1443km Port Harcourt – Maiduguri rail lines.

.

There is no doubt that you have served your fatherland as Minister with every sense of patriotism and dedication and is therefore deserving of a higher responsibility just as President Buhari suggested in his birthday message to you on your 55th birthday celebration.

For us as a group, we take particular interest in the fact that while serving the nation you did not leave your home state impoverished. Directly or through the use of your influence around the corridor of power you brought laudable developments to Rivers State.

Notable amongst such projects are the reconstruction of the Port Harcourt International Airport formally ranked 3rd amongst the World’s 20 worst international airports; the NLNG Train 7 project which was originally designed to commence in Bayelsa State; Ogoni clean-up; the 40km Bonny-Bodo road, one of the biggest road projects under President Buhari; the Port Harcourt section of the Port Harcourt/Aba expressway; Improved Carbotage at One Seaport, the Lagos-Calabar railway project; the Naval War College in Ubima and the facilitation of the N78 Billion refund to Rivers State, a fund that gave the Wike-led government in Rivers State the impetus to embark on the mindless construction of flyovers in Port Harcourt.

We are certain that Nigerians are yet to see the best of you. If given the opportunity to lead the Nation we remain confident that you will bring Nigeria to a place of improved security, unity, development and prosperity. Nigerians await you Sir.
