The scholarships and awards are for applicants with an exceptional academic profile, and who demonstrate leadership through community service or excellence in the arts or sport.

York University International Student Scholarships | DETAILS

The International Student Scholarships at York University, Glendon Campus are of various types for international students to choose. They include:

York Entrance Scholarships and Awards: This scholarship is for international students who are freshmen at the university and do not require an application. This means that students are automatically considered for the award.
President’s International Scholarship of Excellence: Twenty (20) of these scholarships are awarded annually and is valued at $45,000/year. It is renewable for additional three years of full-time undergraduate studies provided the student maintains a good academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $180,000 over four years.
International Entrance Scholarship of Distinction: Three scholarships are awarded each year valued at $35,000 per annum. It can be renewed for an additional three years of full-time study in as much as the student maintains a good academic standing each year.
Global Leader of Tomorrow Award for International Students: Two of these scholarships are awarded each year. Valued at $20,000/year, it is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains good academic standing.
Tentanda Via Award: This scholarship is awarded to fifteen students to recognize undergraduate students who have had to face significant personal barriers and overcomes such barriers to pursue a university education. It is valued at $30,000/year and can be renewed for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study.
International Circle of Scholars Scholarship: One of these scholarships is awarded per year, valued at $15,000 towards a student’s first year of study.
York University Academic Excellence Scholarships for International Students: Five to ten of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $5,000 to $10,000 towards a student’s first year of study.
Annie Demirjian ’77 Scholarship: This is one of the Glendon Entrance Scholarships and Awards that is valued at between $5,000 – $10,000 per year awarded to an incoming internation student admitted to Glendon with top academic standing. Interested applicants can complete the Glendon International Scholarship Application and send by e-mail to finance@glendon.yorku.ca before March 1.
Glendon International Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to an incoming international student admitted to study at Glendon with top academic standing (85% and higher). Applicants must demonstrate great leadership potential and/or financial need. Interested applicants can complete the Glendon International Scholarship Application and send by e-mail to finance@glendon.yorku.ca before March 1.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the York University International Student Scholarships and Awards, applicants are required to meet the following:

Must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit to study in Canada.
Must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York that begins in Fall 2022.
Must have a 9-digit York reference number, which you will receive within 5 business days of applying for admission to York.
Must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college studies.
Must have demonstrated leadership through community service or excellence in the arts, sports, or other areas of individual achievement.
Must have excellent academic record with a minimum “A” average or equivalent.

How to Apply

Interested applicants for the York University International Scholarships 2022 are to complete an online application by the application deadline. Applicants will be required to upload one letter of recommendation and provide all the required information during the application process.
