The International Women’s Day celebrated yearly every 8th of March was set aside by the United Nations to recorgnise the the contributiond of women in the society building,and to a large extent increase awareness for women particicipation in driving the economy and politics .
The 2022 edition with the theme “Gender Equality Today For Sustainable Tommorow__Break the Bias ” is significantly unique because it is election year and I want to charge women across the country to leverage in the opportunity provided by the Constitution on election participation to contest major Political elective offices instead of the usual deputising positions.
Moreover,let me recorgnise the priceless sacrifices and input of women in building the family, society , economy among others .
Let me encourage Rivers State All Progressives Congress APC Women to continue to support the leadership of the party with fresh ideas , initiative and creativity which are undoubtedly tonic for adding the required value within the Conventional Political Party formation .
I want to also use this medium to call on our male counterparts to give women the needed Support in all aspects of human endeavors to show their professionalism .
My message for the 2022 edition of the yearly globally celebrated International Women’s Day will not be complete without highlighting the significant and notable contributions made by the wife of Minister of Transportation,Her Excellency, Dame Judith Amaechi in empowering women at all levels to make them realise their gifts and potentials.
