One Acre, founded in 2006, supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund. We serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

Job Title: Nigeria Rural Retail District Coordinator

Location: Minna, Niger
Employment Type: Full-time
Preferred Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

  • You are fluent in Hausa and English , you understand Agricultural practices and local knowledge of Niger State.
  • Your responsibilities will include documentation, site scouting and negotiations, assisting in RRT set up Activities.
  • Post set up, you will manage the shops under your district cover areas such as staffing, inventory management and reporting.
  • You will report to the Rural Retail Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Location Scouting and Shop Set-up
  • Recruit and manage store managers.
  • Manage store operations and handle operational problems that arise under your district
  • Ensure that marketing efforts are consistent across each store.
  • Set district goals such as sales estimates and revenue projections.
  • Manage a district budget and ensure that each store operates within the budget.
  • Monitor each store’s P&L reports.
  • Liaise between regional branches and other RR members.
  • Ensure that customer service levels are consistent across stores.
  • Make recommendations on shop related matters to RRT.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide necessary program-related documentation.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate / HND in Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics or other Management Courses or Business Management or any related field.
  • 2+ years experience in Retail, Marketing or Sales Management
  • Willing to be based within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Professional, good human relationships, motivated, flexible, and culturally sensitive
  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in Hausa

About the Role

  • As the People and Admin Lead, you will report to the Country Lead.
  • You will establish the groundwork for the growth, sustainability, and professional development of our team as it grows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a long-term vision for all human capital and talent functions to guide delivery of the Nigeria program’s commitments to its staff – meaningful work, career growth.
  • Ensure excellent Human Resources Management by driving excellence across all HR functions (payroll and benefits management, performance management, learning and development, onboarding and end of service, and employee engagement).
  • Develop staff by collaborating with leadership to identify and address development needs and implement scalable professional development services to build the careers of our staff.
  • Oversee the Corporate Operations function which manages office and asset administration
  • Manage risk and ensure legal compliance from a people perspective. Develop strategic solutions to organizational risks related to human resources and labor law compliance.
  • Use HRIS data and results from all HR surveys to make decisions and set a data-driven people strategy.
  • Manage an internal communication strategy for the Nigeria team, allowing the division to better understand staff needs, clarify expectations around People services, and ensure that staff understand People policies and program updates.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree qualification
  • 5+ years of professional experience with relevant experience includes International development/NGO/Human Resources work – preferably in West Africa, Private sector business, startup or government work in a developing country.
  • A minimum 2 years direct management experience.
  • Ability to lead a team, set a vision, and achieve results towards annuals goals.
  • Project management skills and can oversee the development of multiple projects across different teams.
  • Emotionally intelligent leader with good humor, patience, integrity and humble approach to service.

Eligibility:

  • One Acre Fund can support a work permit for this role. However, nationals of (or those with an extensive professional background and work history in) our countries of operation are preferred.

Job Description

  • The Finance Division at One Acre Fund is intimately involved in helping set strategy for the whole organization, while also supporting our programs with outstanding tactical execution of finance to support smooth operations and growth.
  • We are looking for a Manager / Chief of Staff, Office of the CFO who is capable of thinking strategically, developing other team members, and getting tactical work accomplished.
  • You will report directly to the CFO and work with a finance team of 65+.

Responsibilities
CFO Support:

  • You will support the CFO in setting the finance strategy and in daily operations
  • You will help communicate important decisions across the finance division to promote transparency, inclusion and monitor progress against the same
  • You will implement finance top priorities and any other responsibilities as seen fit by the CFO
  • You will communicate and engage organization-wide stakeholders, to support successful execution of whole organization strategy – achieving greater impact, more cost-effectively
  • You will represent the CFO in meetings

Finance Leadership Support:

  • You will provide targeted support for the Division’s hiring, onboarding, development and retention of excellent talent
  • You will help align and accomplish on expected outcomes within the Finance Division

  • Experience planning and leading strategic projects
  • Project management and reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental coordination and communication
  • Familiarity with data analysis
  • Experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Strong people management skills and demonstrated ability to hire, develop and retain top talent
  • Excellent written and spoken English
