We are recruiting to fill the positions below:

Job Title: Workshop Manager I

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Site Manager, Workshop Manager 1 oversees preventive maintenance and ensures that repairs on ICRC vehicles and other logistics equipment are made in accordance with guidelines issued from headquarters and manufacturers’ recommendations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximizes fleet efficiency and effectiveness and through planned preventative maintenance resource allocation, asset optimization and fleet right-sizing analysis together with the Vehicle Fleet Manager or Logistician.
  • Provides and organizes training for fleet staff regarding; technical aspects (diagnostics, repairs, maintenance techniques), transfer of technology, proper use of diagnostic and other electronic equipment, tools and machinery, and ICRC administrative procedures.
  • Helps the Mechanics with complex diagnostics and technical problems with vehicles and generators and suggests solutions.
  • Operates and maintains the Fleetwave Centralize (FWC) software system, electronic logbook, electronic spare parts catalogue, etc., as required.
  • Responsible for forecasting and planning quarterly spare parts orders, sets stock levels for spare parts and consumables in accordance with activity levels; takes part in placing orders for spare parts and equipment as required.
  • In charge of ensuring accountability, proper storage and disposal of hazardous workshop wastes (waste engine oil, fuel/oil filters, tires, batteries) for site under their AoR in accordance with SoP’s and directive from Vehicle Fleet Manager 2
  • Ensures that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned to his/her role as described in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix (Workshop and Fuel Storage safe working protocols, workplace accidents/incidents of workshop staff, PPE equipment attributions.
  • Supervises, trains and coaches the Mechanic and Mechanic’s Helper and manages some workshop staff.
  • Monitors and checks fuel consumption, including contingency planning
  • Where applicable, manages the budget of the cost center under their responsibility
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Education and Experience Required

  • University Degree / Technical College or certificate in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
  • Valid Level 1 Motor Vehicle Mechanics Certificate issues by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Labour & productivity
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a foreman / forewoman in the automotive industry or 4–6 years’ experience in a similar position as a mechanic.
  • Valid class B or D Nigerian Drivers Licence

Desired profile and Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and knowledge of local languages is an asset
  • Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office software skills (outlook, Excel PowerPoint, Word).
  • Previous experience in managing Fleet Software is an asset.
  • Experience managing a team

Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of Head of Office, the Logistics Assistant Provides support to Damaturu in the areas of Dispatching, Purchasing, Transport, and Fleet.
  • Handles logistical files independently, Implements and runs ICRC Logistics procedures; Negotiates contractual matters with external interlocutors and Supervises a small team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives goods and checks that they correspond to the requested quantities and qualities ordered
  • As delegated by the Purchasing team, follows up on purchases and deliveries and checks that they conform with specifications and contract details
  • Independently works to ensure that the fleet is used in a rational manner.
  • Organizes and plans drivers’ duties and assignments; dispatches the assigned vehicles.
  • Monitors and records vehicle use and fuel consumption.
  • Takes all necessary steps to implement the delegation’s security rules
  • Where necessary, checks that field-trip forms are filed and correspond to the assigned mission and that logbooks are filled out.
  • Organizes the classification and filing documents in proper order place for all areas of responsibility
  • Performs as ICT focal point for Damaturu Office
  • Keeps tracks of all vehicle movements
  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Education and Experience Required

  • University Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Driving licence

Desired profile and Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and knowledge of local languages is an asset (Hausa is mandatory)
  • Very well organized, with good planning abilities.
  • Computer literacy; proficient in Microsoft Office software skills (outlook, Excel Power Point, Word).

Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Job Description

  • Under the direct supervision of Head of Office/Finance and Administrative Manager, the Administrative Assistant handles various administrative and secretarial tasks e.g. (photocopies, mail delivery, document filing, contact with clients etc), Maintains contact with external interlocutors, update office records and responsible for specific administrative files.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the financial rules are implemented within the structure/office and understood by every employee

  • Organises the maintenance and repair of office equipment (photocopiers, telephones, etc)
  • Follow-up on the utilities of Damaturu premises including maintenance and payments
  • Acts as a link for HR administrative tasks between employees and Head of Office/FAM – ensures the information flow
  • Checks sick leave Certificates and other absences to ensure respect of existing procedures
  • Maintains each personnel file up-to-date: ensures all original documents are sent to Abuja HR and a copy of each document is kept in Damaturu
  • Welcomes visitors, arranges for Hotel accommodation if necessary
  • Follows up on Field Trip Form (FTF) and make necessary arrangements for visitors
  • Answers the office phone and writes messages where necessary
  • Prepares and receives pouches and delivers the courier to the final recipients

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree / college certificate in Administration or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (INGO, Embassy etc)

  • Knowledge of cultural & socio-economic environment of northern Nigeria
