Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for the effective supervision and organization of materials, provision of logistics and engineering support in the packaging of Grand Pure Soya Oil and the supervision, training, and motivation of team members to achieve Oil Plant targets and overall business profit targets.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaging of agreed quantity of products meet sales & distribution forecasts.
  • Ensures production plans in terms of quantity and quality is achieved on daily basis.
  • Prepare plant and equipment for production.
  • Make packaging/raw materials available for all the shifts.
  • Provides daily reports on production activities.
  • Monitors and enforce the cleaning of machinery and environment.

Maintenance:

Job Title: Packing Operator, BFC – Cereal Mill

Location: Jos, Plateau
Function: Supply Chain

Reports To: Shift Supervisor – Cereal Mill

Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for packing of products in the right packaging materials and of the right weight and reporting accurately for accountability.
  • Ensures weighing equipment are calibrated regularly.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaged products meet the desired specification.

Job Title: Extruder Operator

Location: Onitsha, Anambra

Reports To: Shift Production Manager – Feeds

Purpose of Job

  • Will be responsible for tending to the Extrusion, Drying, Coating and Cooling process of feed manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities
Production Efficiency:

  • Completely tends to all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line to produce extruded feeds.
  • Maintains an understanding of the shift’s production schedule and how it affects the work to be done.
  • Adjust, calibrate and test the equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper operation. This includes checking the functionality of control parameters like motor current and valves.
  • Execute a flawless setup and changeover procedure including the use of the right dies, knives, knife speed and steam settings.
  • Completely responsible for ensuring the maximum output and efficiency of all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line.
  • Report and act upon machine breakdowns in line with the established downtime escalation procedure.
  • Use regulated cleaning solutions, air hoses, cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean dies, sharpen knives and carry out all other necessary equipment maintenance procedure.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of pertinent operational reports as requested by the Plant Manager or Factory Manager.
  • Initiate and maintain communications with the Shift Production Manager and the Plant Manager on all concerns regarding machine performance and product quality.

Leadership & People Management:

  • Train support staff on job-related tasks, including Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler operations.
  • Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and the associated reporting and action closure.

Quality Management:

Purpose of Job

  • Will be responsible for the planning of the production schedules and workflow to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in fulfilling supply.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaging of agreed quantity of products meet sales & distribution forecasts.
  • Coordinate production workflow for all product SKUs in the plant to deliver business plan On Time and In Full (OTIF)
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Ensure all materials (packaging, Raw materials, Chemicals, etc.) required to execute the plan are available before the plan is rolled out.
  • Schedule shift according to production needs.

  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

  • Adjust roller mills for gradual reduction to achieve desired break release.

Purpose of Job

  • To optimize the performance of machinery and equipment. Designing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies and activities across all plants, reducing breakdowns and ensuring equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Perform routine checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs

Key Accountabilities

  • Development, implementation and review of maintenance schedules-Daily, Weekly, Monthly & Annual checklist for automated systems to eliminate equipment breakdown and downtime in plants.
  • Troubleshooting automation/electrical/instrumentation malfunctions and breakdowns as well as performing repairs.
  • Establish, implement and review maintenance policies, strategies and plans in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement approved technical projects- production facilities re-design, installation of new plants and equipment and commissioning in line with global standards.

Education and Experience

  • Trade Test, NABTEB, OND, HND or related qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.

Purpose of Job

  • Will be responsible for tending to the Extrusion, Drying, Coating and Cooling process of feed manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities
Production Efficiency:

  • Completely tends to all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line to produce extruded feeds.
  • Maintains an understanding of the shift’s production schedule and how it affects the work to be done.
  • Adjust, calibrate and test the equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper operation. This includes checking the functionality of control parameters like motor current and valves.
  • Execute a flawless setup and changeover procedure including the use of the right dies, knives, knife speed and steam settings.
  • Completely responsible for ensuring the maximum output and efficiency of all equipment along the Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler line.
  • Report and act upon machine breakdowns in line with the established downtime escalation procedure.
  • Use regulated cleaning solutions, air hoses, cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean dies, sharpen knives and carry out all other necessary equipment maintenance procedure.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of pertinent operational reports as requested by the Plant Manager or Factory Manager.
  • Initiate and maintain communications with the Shift Production Manager and the Plant Manager on all concerns regarding machine performance and product quality.

Leadership & People Management:

  • Train support staff on job-related tasks, including Extruder, Dryer, Vacuum Coater and Cooler operations.
  • Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and the associated reporting and action closure.

Quality Management:

  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes are carried out according to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct product quality checks along the line and assure the conformance to company’s quality standards.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and housekeeping of the equipment along the Extruder, Dryer Vacuum Coater and Cooler line.

Purpose of Job

  • Will be responsible for the planning of the production schedules and workflow to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay in fulfilling supply.

Key Accountabilities
Production & Packaging:

  • Ensure packaging of agreed quantity of products meet sales & distribution forecasts.
  • Coordinate production workflow for all product SKUs in the plant to deliver business plan On Time and In Full (OTIF)
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.

Purpose of Job:

  • Responsible for receiving, stocking and issuing spare parts in the technical store and supports the management of inventory levels using SAP.

Key Accountabilities:
Goods Issues, Receipts and Storage:

  • Carry out verification of spare part reservation in work order, issue out spares physically and then post out in SAP while at same time updating physical bin card for issued spares.
  • Assigns proper storage areas for new items, determines and assign shelves, racks and bin numbers in a manner that supports 5S in work area and in accordance to established storage systems.
  • Reports to Spare Parts Store Manager in case a modification to bin number is required.
  • Transfers received items from receiving bay into appropriate bin location.

Documentation:

  • Maintains material requisition slips and material return slips in register for ease of referencing.

Work Preparation and Maintenance:

  • Supports the Planned Maintenance process by ensuring that spare parts are stored in such a manger that they are easily retrievable from stock and in good condition.

Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Review and Update:

  • Supports the Periodic MRP review by Technical Store Manager to ensure availability of spare parts to support production by providing real time information on spares movement.
  • Proactively provide information to Technical Store Manager for modification (Description, OEM number, Make, MRP settings etc.) of spare parts description

Stock Count, Verification and Accuracy:

  • Carry out daily verifications of spare parts issues to ensure that stock accuracy is 100% at all times. Investigates discrepancies and ensures agreed measures from Analysis are implemented on time and in full.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts as assigned and reports observation to Technical Store Manager.
  • Participates actively in all scheduled inventory stock counts.
  • Actively takes part in reconciliations resulting from stock counts

Workplace Organization

  • Maintenance of 5S in the stores by ensuring that storage areas, shelves and bins are clean and tidy at all times and in line with agreed layout to enable ease of stocking, withdrawal and reduction of incidences of commercial obsolescence.
  • Ensures that the workplace is organized according to extant 5S standards

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Reports near misses, unsafe conditions and unsafe behaviour within and outside work area
  • Participate in period hazards identification and detailed risk assessment in work area as applicable
  • Participate in investigation of safety events (Incidents, accidents etc) in work area.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma in any Engineering related discipline
  • A minimum of One (1) year relevant work experience in a technical role.

Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Purpose of Job

  • Responsible for managing the maintenance process across the factory, reducing breakdowns and ensuring equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • The role also ensures that maintenance related data that guarantees equipment reliability are kept up to date.

Key Accountabilities
Work Order Management:

  • Responsible for reviewing notifications from various sources, converting to work orders and assigning same to relevant maintenance personnel responsible for resolution.
  • Follow up the work order system to ensure that work orders are completed on schedule. Responsible for generating data that measures compliance to work order system.
  • Drive the system that ensures that all work done in the factory are accomplished using work orders.

Tag System Management:

  • Responsible for managing the tagging system to ensure that all identified equipment issues are tagged.
  • Follow up with Maintenance personnel to confirm that the tag record and analysis register is updated at all times.
  • Co-ordinate resolution of all tagged issues in good time.
  • Manage the process that integrates the tag system with SAP notification systems.

Maintenance Cost Management:

  • Generate monthly reports to track cost of maintenance across the plants.
  • Work with Maintenance Engineers to drive down the cost of maintenance by rolling out best in class maintenance practices.

Work Preparation and Maintenance:

  • Participates in Planned Maintenance preparation by coordinating the pre-maintenance inspection, pre-maintenance meeting, the maintenance process and post-maintenance inspection/meeting. Ensures that all processes are documented accordingly.
  • Follow up on maintenance planning and feedback and ensure files are properly documented on the server.

Maintenance Planning and Control:

  • Manage the planning and execution of maintenance by designing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide the planning and execution of maintenance.
  • Manage the execution of all 5why deliberations to ensure quality of the process and follow up on execution and documentation of all countermeasures generated from the RCA.
  • Manages and updates the Planned Maintenance System on SAP to ensure that task lists are updated and used during maintenance.
  • Manage weekly maintenance-related meetings and follow up to ensure that resulting activities are carried out to reduce breakdowns to the barest minimum.

Equipment and Plant Reliability:

  • Manages reliability metrics of MTBF, MTTR and number of breakdowns. Generate reports to track reliability of equipment and liaise with maintenance personnel to stem downtrends.

Workplace Organization:

  • Ensures workplace is 5S Compliant to enhance maintenance activities, safety and general working condition within the area where maintenance is being carried out.
  • Maintains files appropriate to the activities of maintenance structure.
  • Prepares reports and composes correspondence relative to the work.
  • Cleanliness and orderliness of work areas
  • Ensures that the workplace is organized according to extant 5S standards

Health, Safety and Environment:

Purpose of Job

  • This role is a key member of the factory management team, which is responsible for supplying highly volatile markets and subject to massive swings in demand, while at the same time managing costs to a minimum.

Key Accountabilities
Operational/Professional/Business:

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of the monthly / quarterly / annual / Budget / Capex operations financial reporting for the factory in order to present a consolidated management information pack to the factory top team and GCL management reporting Manager in line with the GCL reporting requirements and timetables.
  • Provision of internally consistent, timely and accurate dashboard information, Raw Material and Packaging variance analysis, management & statutory information with clear commentaries and sensitivities
  • Generate the factory monthly scorecard and relevant variance analysis pertaining to waste, manufacturing cost, Raw Materials, Packaging materials, Capex, R&Rs usage etc.
  • Work as a business partner with Manufacturing; proactively use the Manufacturing finance data to:
    • Positively challenge all expenditure and savings
    • Identify and propose business development opportunities / projects.
    • Identify and propose areas of cost savings / business development within the Manufacturing scope of activities
  • As a member of the Supply Chain Finance Drive Team, develop and drive the Supply Chain finance strategy.
  • Work as a business partner with Manufacturing to drive key financially-focused projects within the Supply Chain scope of activities.
  • Ensure that accurate conversion cost forecasts and related variance analysis are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Proper and rigorous control of overheads across manufacturing to ensure no loss of control resulting in overspends. This should be done through training of functional managers as well as reviews with the Supply Chain director
  • Consistently ensures the application and effectiveness of key controls in different areas Manufacturing and use of materials through risk assessment and identification of key areas for improvement and ensure corrective measures are executed within agreed time frames.
  • Drive implementation of various action points from internal and external audits. Ensure that commitments (actions/deadlines) made are subsequently respected at all times
  • Ensure full and proper use of SAP in Finance and supervise the Factory Finance supervisors to ensure:
    • Upload of accurate manufacturing cost activity prices for product cost computation in SAP
    • Identify detailed business requirements, including all reporting and interface requirements for the success of SAP project.
    • Seamless processing of Product Costs through to Material Ledger run in SAP on a monthly basis based GCL calendar.
    • Regular SAP training for users within Manufacturing Finance ensuring that any issues pertaining to the functionality of SAP are promptly resolved
    • Ensure distribution of Inventory Differences on monthly basis
    • Perform variance calculation and production settlement monthly
    • Perform actual cost splitting monthly
