As the All Progressives Congress gears up for the nation-wide state congress scheduled for October 16, 2021, members of the party in Rivers State are taking different measures to ensure that the right person with the right frame of mind emerges as Chairman, to steer the affairs of the party in the all-time tensed and politically sophisticated Niger Delta State.
Speaking to PinnacleReport, a stalwart of the party and ally of the Transportation Minister, Barr. Solomon Tamuno Solomon, said October 16, is significant in the annals of the party in Rivers State as the outcome of the congress will determine the path to the 2023 elections.
Barr. Solomon, who had severally dragged the People’s Democratic Party to Court especially, on the ground of non-compliance to the tenets of internal democracy in the conduct of its congresses, said members of the APC must project their voices on the 16th, to respond with the timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people.
He said Chizi Nyeomasila is sufficiently stocked with the necessary ingredients needed to restore the dignity and worth of the Rivers APC and prepare her for 2023, adding that the Chairmanship aspirant is an elixir for the Many Challenges of Rivers APC.
Recalling the misfortunes of the party since 2015, the legal staunch said the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress is one branch of the ruling party that has had more than enough share of the grave and consequential effects of a very loud brawl over competing interests.
Ranging from a floodgate of law suits and multiplicity of restraining orders to the final exclusion of the party from participating in the 2019 general elections, Barr. Solomon said the party, its members and in fact, the Rivers electorates have continued to brood with painful perplexity, the inglorious and self-serving path into which the party was inveigled by political desperados in the pursuit of private vendettas.
He however noted that with the plethora of cases laid to rest, the party has been offered the opportunity for a rebirth; to recoup and again, evolve into a thriving, responsible alternative to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the hollow administration of Gov. Nyesom Wike, who has suddenly turned Rivers state into a cash cow for his northern political coryphaeus and allies.
“The state congress slated for October 16, 2021, will mark the beginning of a new order to usher the Rivers APC into a solemn moment of interior renascence and ultimately launch her into the next phase. However, we must act tough and smart enough to seize the moment”, he added.
“Brick by brick, let us build a party that represents a shining beacon of hope for the youths, women and the elderly; a party that offers a ray of light for the poor and downtrodden in society; a party that rewards, reinforces and rebukes for sanity and discipline.”
Furthermore, the party chieftain said there is no better time than now, to rescue the party from the claws of internal satanic undercovers and infiltrators using hypnotism to mesmerize stakeholders to swing pendulums in their favour. According to him, this times are too serious for politics of hypnotic engagements.
“As the clock ticks and draws us closer to October 16, we are left with little time to talk, but critical thinking and constructive engagements will help us take decisive actions. Chizi Nyeomasila is the option. Think Smart, Act Tough.”
