OKUMGBA WELCOMES LATEST SET OF PDP DECAMPEES IN IKWERRE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The South-South Caretaker Committee Zonal Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. David Okumgba, on Saturday received defecting members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, into the APC political family.

The Zonal Secretary was a special guest at a programme organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation, the Amaechi Prayer Network, APN, in Elele Town of Ikwerre Local Government Area.

David Okumgba who was represented at the weekly prayer meeting by the Zonal Administrative Secretary of South-South APC, Mr. Sunny Andy Dimkpa, said that with the success of the just concluded State Congresses, the Rivers APC is now poised to harvest more defectors in the succeeding weeks from the PDP; a party he said has completely lost touch with the yearnings of the common man in Rivers State.

While handing over the defectors to the Ikwerre APC Chairman, Hon. Frank Eze Aribodor, Okumgba assured the latest entrants to APC led by Mrs. Loveth Opara, of equal but a better treatment in the APC. He charged them to without hesitation identify with their various Unit and Ward leaders as a prerequisite to enjoy same opportunities as the old members of the party.

The party chieftain eulogized the National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Christian Anuforo Orlu-Orlu, for advancing the cause of the APC through his group — an NGO fervently interceeding for the party and her leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi — and encouraged other NGO leaders to emulate the zeal and forthrightness of the Hon. Orlu-Orlu led APN with a view to ensuring a superlative electoral performance for APC in and outside of Rivers State in 2023.

The event had in attendance a chieftain of the party from Ahoada-East LGA, Hon. Bestman Nnadi, party leaders in KELGA and other members of the body.
