PDP 2022 CONGRESSES: DR. LLOYD DECLARES EXERCISE PEACEFUL AND CREDIBLE IN EMOHUA LGA

The executive chairman of Emohua local government council, Dr Chidi Lloyd has declared the just concluded LGA congress of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government area as one of the most peaceful and credible party congress in recent times, applauding the leadership of the party in Rivers State for setting the pace in party politics and promoting internal democracy in the party.

Dr Lloyd said the peaceful conduct of the LGA congresses across Rivers State exemplifies the existence of peace and unity within the party across the state, which he attributed to the leadership prowess of the state governor and leader of the party, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The council chairman made the declaration at the 2022 LGA congress of PDP held at the Emohua LGA secretariat of the party in Rumuji town on Tuesday.

He commended the leadership of PDP in Emohua LGA and the delegates across the 14 political wards in the area for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the exercise.

Speaking further, the council chairman lauded the Governor of Rivers State, H.E Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for providing effective leadership in the party, while appreciating the state executive committee of PDP led by Amb. Desmond Akawor for ensuring that level playing ground was given to all aspirants in the contest for one national delegate and one physically challenged delegate from the local government area ahead the party’s primary elections.

The chairman of PDP in Obio-Akpor LGA, Hon Chidi Amadi who served as the presiding officer in the special delegate election in Emohua LGA commended delegates in the LGA for conducting themselves peaceful and orderly during the exercise, while appreciating the local government chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd for providing the necessary support to the electorial officers and observers to ensure the success of the party’s internal election in Emohua LGA.

The LGA congress which saw the emergence of Ohna Sergeant Awuse as the unchallenged national delegate and Mr Ofuru Ekuna as the representative of people living with disabilities from Emohua LGA to the forthcoming PDP primaries was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the representatives of the difference security agencies.

Earlier, Dr Lloyd joined his counterparts across the LGAs and other PDP stakeholders in Rivers State to observe the accreditation of electoral officers and distribution of materials for the LGA congresses across the 23 LGAs in Rivers State, at the state secretariat of PDP along Aba Road in PortHarcourt before proceeding to Rumuji for Emohua LGA congress.
