…As Former Reps Candidate Leads Women Delegation on a Solidarity Visit, …Calls on Amaechi to Join the 2023 Presidential Race.
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and frontline Chairmanship aspirant for the nation-wide State Congress slated for Saturday, October 16, 2021, Chizi Nyeomasila, has disclosed that the party will show a fine commitment towards effective gender parity in key political decisions.
He made this disclosure, Saturday, during an interactive session with a bevy of women from the All Progressives Congress, drawn across the various local government areas, who had gathered to throw their weight behind him in solidarity with his aspiration to serve the party.
As part of innovative steps to effect structural changes, the party stalwart said under his watch and in line with the significant antecedence of the leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, whom he described as all-time gender-friendly, the Rivers APC will adopt a multifaceted approach to promoting women participation in party affairs by assigning key roles, developing capacity and raising awareness.
“We will build capacity of the pool of potential female leaders, including aspiring ones within our fold, through a diverse range of activities such as strengthening their networks, media campaigns, awareness-raising, creating, working and liaising with Non-Governmental Organizations (especially female-based NGOs) etcetera. These and more will definitely help to raise their profiles and prepare them for leadership roles.”
Assuring that exciting times are in store for the Rivers APC and her teeming supporters, Chizi urged the women delegation to gird their loins to assume very active roles specially designed to help the party get the crucial supports it needs to tactfully disarm the People’s Democratic Party and make a public show of its warped approach to governance.
Speaking earlier, leader of the delegation and a former candidate for Phalga Constituency ll, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. (Mrs.) Tonye Matilda Koko, said having closely assessed his level of preparedness and genuine commitment to the course of the party, Chizi Nyeomasila, has won the support of the suffering women of the APC from Rivers State.
Mrs. Koko who is also an aspirant for the office of State Women Leader in the schedule congress, urged delegates to support Chizi Nyeomasila to end the bizarre trend of political merchandise cascading in the Rivers APC and perpetrated by saboteurs masquerading as lovers and loyalists of the leader and Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.
She said there is no better time than now, for members of the Rivers APC to rebuild and solidify the shaky foundations of the party and set her on the path of victory for the good of all.
Expressing confidence in the leadership prowess of Chizi Nyeomasila, Madam Tonye, said she remains enthusiastic that upon emergence, the Chairmanship hopeful will give women their due and include them in the scheme of things.
Speaking further, Hon. Koko said the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, having presented himself worthy in all respects, should as a matter of utmost exigency, heed the call to join the 2023 Presidential race, assuring that Niger Delta women are set to queue behind him.
“Our father and leader; the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, must be timely in responding to the exigencies of the call to join the race for the 2023 Presidential contest”, Madam Tonye resounded.
