The Chairman, Governing Board of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Rt. Hon. Asita Honourable has called on Christians to pursue the Christ-like virtues of love, peace and harmony as they mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
Asita, in a message released on Holy Saturday in Port Harcourt urged Christians to see the Easter celebrations as that time of the year when Christians commemorate the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, while reflecting on love, God’s greatest gift to mankind.
“It is a time when we celebrate the victory of light over darkness, redemption over condemnation, but beyond these, it is a time to reflect deeply on the teachings of Christ and the values his life exemplified.”
The Orashi political Leader urged Christians to use the season to renew their mind and faith in God, while demonstrating acts of kindness and love toward others.
Asita, who acknowledged that the nation was indeed passing through challenging times, called on Nigerians not to despair but keep hope alive, noting that as the resurrection of Christ gave the world renewed hope, Nigeria will rise beyond its challenges inspired by the lessons the Easter season brings.
He wished the Christian community a happy and peaceful Easter celebrations.
