The Honourable Minister of Transportation Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi inspects ongoing constriction project at Dala Inland Dry port, Kano State.
The Dala Inland Dry Port (IDP) in Kano State would boost trans-sahara trade and the implementation of Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement.
It would decongest the seaports, reduce the cost of doing business and provide an avenue for shippers in the hinterland and neighboring countries like Niger, Chad, and Benin to have their cargoes transported to their doorsteps.
The dry port will among other things, act as a catalyst for improved trade flows, boost inland trading and revitalise export of agricultural products, thus leading to multi-product economy.
It would also create employment opportunities that would ultimately stem rural-urban migration and act as a source of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to the host state as well as a revenue source to the federal government.
