Wike Cannot Speak For Rivers People – APC: Read Full Article

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has described comments credited to the state Governor, Nyesom Wike, that Rivers people will not waste their votes on the opposition especially our great party, the APC, as another face saving strategy to “kick the can down the road.” Continue Reading

The Rivers APC in a statement on Friday notes that rather than face the reality of the fact that those hanging around him are only waiting to pick their meal tickets before they dump him ahead of the February 2023 general election, he is still in illusory mode that he can control the minds of all Rivers voters.

We feel thoroughly embarrassed that our Governor thinks he could dictate to Rivers people against their free will and liberty which are at the very heart of every true democracy. How does Governor Wike intend to conjure the powers to command everybody in Rivers State to vote his party? Was it not in this same state that members of his own party were arrested and charged to court on trumped-up charges for protesting against imposition of candidates during his party’s primaries?
We call on Rivers people to be vigilant as the Governor’s consistent boast of delivering Rivers votes enblock may not be unconnected to the complaints by the electoral umpire, INEC of ceaseless hack-attacks on the Commission’s server.

Again, APC in Rivers State wishes to remind all lovers of truth that just on Tuesday 13th September 2022, our party had scientifically deployed the use of PowerPoint slides to prove to the whole world that the APC-led federal government has verifiable imprimatur on the landscape of Rivers State through projects influenced by the former Transportation Minister, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Among these are the standardisation of the Port Harcourt Airport; the establishment of a Naval War College in the state; the commencement of the implementation of the UNEP report to the expansion of the Onne Seaport; the commencement of work on the abandoned Bonny-Bodo link road to the Bonny Deep Seaport project; the refund of the N78billion spent on fixing federal roads under the Amaechi administration to employment opportunities granted Rivers indigenes through NIMASA Safety Marshalls & Seafarers, NPA and the Railway Corporation.

From the above indubitable and incontrovertible facts, Rivers people cannot make another mistake that will lead to owing of pensions, non-promotion of civil servants, non-implementation of the national minimum wage, multiple taxation of businesses, opaque budgeting for 7yrs, failing education and health standards.

Rivers people can neither be fooled nor cajoled into voting for the continuation of unemployment as the state stands shamefully second on the list of states with highest rate of unemployment in Nigeria. Neither can a sophisticated electorate vote a party and candidate who will easily worsen the debt portfolio of our dear state as statistics from the Debt Management Office (DMO) shows that Rivers State sits 2nd on the list of most indebted states in Nigeria with a debt profile of N225billion as at March 2022.

Rivers people are tired of the lack of accountability, disrespect for elders and our traditional chieftaincy institution; as well as the quasi-military style of governance of the state in the past 7yrs, and shall therefore respond appropriately by rejecting the PDP next year.

By the grace of the Almighty God, our candidate who has a fantastic track record of successes in the business world, Pastor (Architect) Tonye Cole mni, shall be overwhelmingly voted for by the majority of Rivers people in order to redirect the state to the path of true greatness, and to protect and preserve the future of our unborn generations.
