Interested Kenyan Citizens are hereby invited by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to apply for the 2022 fund now. Wondering how you can work in one of the big shipping firms? The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) have partnered with Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) to set up the Maritime Education and Training Scheme (METS) Fund, for three loan products:
- Academic,
- Proficiency and
- Competency courses.
Academic loan for students pursuing Craft Certificate or Diploma in Nautical Science and
Marine Engineering at any Maritime Training Institution (METI), approved by KMA. Proficiency Certificate loan for students who have completed a Certificate or Diploma in an approved METI or have relevant sea experience.
Competency Certificate loan for students who have a letter of eligibility from the Kenya Maritime Authority.
