In a significant development, former President Goodluck Jonathan has convened a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This encounter takes place approximately five weeks after the former president’s initial visit to the Villa on June 13, marking his first meeting with the incumbent since assuming office in May.

Speaking to journalists as he departed from the State House in Abuja, Jonathan, who also serves as the Head of the ECOWAS Mediation Team to Mali, emphasized that his visit aimed to address pertinent issues related to continental and subcontinental bodies.

“As the ECOWAS mediator for Mali and the chair of the West African Elders Forum, I came to brief the president about certain matters pertaining to the continent and the subregion,” Jonathan explained.
