Senior Software Developer
Our client, an indigenous electricity meters manufacturing company seeks to hire skilled software developers to help with the development of our current projects. Your duties will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. You will also be involved in directing system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will need a substantial knowledge of a programming language and the software development life-cycle.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities:
- Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Integrate software components and third-party programs
- Verify and deploy programs and systems
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Gather and evaluate user feedback
- Recommend and execute improvements
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree/HND in computer science or any related field.
- At least 2 – 4 years hands-on experience building and deploying high traffic consumer-facing Apps and platforms
- Experience should include use of some of the following modern development software and technologies- Languages: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Mobile: Flutter/Dart for Cross Platform Application Development (Android & iOS). Frameworks: JSF, Spring Boot, React, Node.js, Bootstrap. Databases: MYSQL, MSSQL, Oracle. Tools: Cordova, Git, Maven, Slack, JIRA etc.
- Familiarity with Microservices and Containers is a plus
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
- Experience with databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres) and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude

Senior Database Administrator
Our client, an indigenous electricity meters manufacturing company seeks the services of a professional Database Administrator (DBA) who will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users and clients.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
- Design and implement database in accordance to end users’ information needs and views
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
- Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
- Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree/HND in computer science or any related field.
- At least 2 – 3 years proven experience as a Database Administrator using any of the following applications: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres
- Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
- Proven experience working hands-on with big data systems.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
- Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
- Familiarity with programming languages API
- Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
