Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

General Summary

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will support the organization in the design and implementation of systems that allow the utilization of data for informed decision-making to improve project outcomes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities on the project.
  • Develop and manage systems to collect and analyze information on the project’s inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impact.
  • Responsible for the implementation of all monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Works with the Project Lead to ensure that the monitoring and evaluation activities are conducted appropriately in line with Project, Country and donor needs.
  • Ensure Program staff are familiar and compliant with all necessary M&E tools.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of database/information systems.
  • Develop M&E plan for the State team to conduct routine monitoring visits to the various project implementation communities, including data verification, and data quality assessments.
  • Ensure all data are validated monthly before reporting.
  • Prepare monthly M&E reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Public Health or any related field of study; Master’s Degree preferred with 4 years of experience.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methodologies
  • Knowledge of website applications, Microsoft Office, as well as data analysis software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, EPI INFO, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of program implementation, monitoring and evaluation techniques and practices.
  • Familiarity with impact assessment is an advantage
  • Ability to perform various conceptual analyses required for the formulation, administration and evaluation of projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to draft and deliver timely quality evaluation reports.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to consistency, detail, and quality.

 

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Overview

  • The Business Development Manager will lead on the organization’s new business efforts in Africa and internationally through a mix of regular and on-demand tasks. Under the guidance of the CEO, s/he will work to win local and international business, as well as provide support to other business efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying and tracking donor opportunities, supporting the Senior Management Team in the development of fundraising strategies, and coordinating proposal development for strategic funding opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development and writing of quality concept notes and proposals, facilitating new business wins in Nigeria and internationally.
  • Manage the proposal development process, obtaining all the required approvals and overseeing quality assurance of the programme design.
  • Lead the development of proposals across market segments – donor, foundation, private sector, and Government of Nigeria.
  • Develop and recommend short-term and long-term strategies for business expansion through identifying new business globally.
  • Support interdepartmental coordination with Program, Operations, Human Resources and Finance teams for proposal development.
  • Conduct online background/contextual research and analysis of relevance to proposal opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with potential clients, while maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Generate standard monthly reports and customized monthly reports for knowledge management purposes.
  • Support the organization to manage grants, including support management of Country Portfolio and coordinate the submission of high-quality donor reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, International Development, Development Studies, Social Science, Political Science, International Relations, or relevant field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in international development, with solid experience in Public Health and any other priority sector: health development, education, protection, humanitarian, child rights, governance, and nutrition (familiarity with health development and humanitarian domains preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in business development in the development sector, inclusive of proposal development for donor organizations like USAID, FCDO, World Bank, and FCO.
  • Proven track record in writing and producing winning bids and proposals for institutional donors, corporate/private sector, and others.
  • Strong understanding and experience with institutional donor funding mechanisms and contract regulations.
  • Excellent writing/editing, reporting, budget development and presentation/communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating the development of large-scale or strategic proposals, including the development of multi-million-dollar project budgets.

  • Support the development of proposals across market segments – donor, foundation, private sector and Government of Nigeria.
  • Support interdepartmental coordination with Program, Operations, Awards and Finance team for proposal development.
  • Conduct on-line background/contextual research and analysis of relevance to proposal opportunities.
  • Generate standard monthly reports and customized monthly reports for the knowledge management team
  • Cultivate strong relationships with potential clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Track data, collate and maintain client information as needed
  • Other duties as specified by the New Business and Grants Manager and other assigned authorities.
  • Support the Country Office to successfully win and manage medium and large grants, including support management of Country Portfolio and setting financial targets.
  • Develop and recommend short-term and long-term strategies for business expansion through identifying new business in Nigeria.
  • Proactively track and engage with market segments to identify business opportunities
  • Provide proposal inputs to proposals managed by other business units to include but not limited to identification and engagement of local partner, research and proposal draft reviews
  • Facilitate field research for proposal development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Development Practice, Social Science, Political Science, International Relations or relevant field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven track record in writing and producing winning bids and proposals for institutional donors, corporates / private sector and others.
