The Opportunity

  • We are recruiting for a Head of Secretariat – Corporate Counsel & Company Secretary to lead the Company Secretariat team within the Governance and Executive Department.
  • In this role you wad the Governance & Secretariat team and will be responsible for advising on pertinent governance and regulatory requirements, enabling effective decision making,  providing high quality meeting services to, and ensuring open and accountable communication across Pian International’s governing bodies and senior management groups.

The Person

  • We are seeking a qualified lawyer (US/New York State preferred).
  • The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of diverse governance and corporate legal frameworks, coupled with a proven track record in developing and implementing corporate governance support and company secretarial systems and processes.
  • You will have experience collaborating with governing Boards and executive management teams preferably in international and/or nonprofit contexts.
  • You will provide expert counsel on global governance and corporate law matters, while also staying attuned to emerging trends and utilising technology to keep up with new innovations and developments.

Job Title: Project Manager – GFFO

The Opportunity

  • The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of project progress as per the project proposal, budget, logical framework and contractual compliance obligations.
  • S/he will oversee and ensure that implementing partners and field level teams have the required level of support, guidance, and information in order to implement the project to high standards, coordinating and communicating effectively with internal and external contacts and ensure follow up and support where required.

About You
We are looking to recruit person (s) with:

  • University Degree, preferably with a Master’s Degree, in Social Science, Social Work, Human Rights, Law, Psychology or related field
  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in child protection work with a humanitarian organisation.
  • Solid knowledge base and practical experience in community-based child protection/GBV approaches, case management, psychosocial support and child participation methodologies.
  • Experience of managing the programme cycle, including assessments, proposal and report writing, Monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong experience and skills in management of staff from different backgrounds, including nutrition and livelihoods.
  • Experience in building relationships, fostering interagency coordination and experience of representing an organization to external parties.
  • Strong self-starter, able to set up and manage child protection programmes.

Job Title: Stabilization Center Coordinator

Locations: Damaturu and Yusufari, Yobe

  • The position holders will lead the management of children under 5 with complicated severe acute malnutrition in the established stabilization centre in Damaturu LGAs in Yobe State.
  • He/she will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, discharge, and follow-up of children admitted with complicated severe acute malnutrition based on the National and WHO guidelines.

About You
We are looking to recruit person (s) with:

  • Minimum of MB:BS / MD with experience in emergency nutrition response especially complicated SAM management in the Stabilization center and clinical experience in Under five children illness diagnosis and treatment in the hospital.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in complicated SAM case management in the SC and CMAM programs.
  • Valid and current practicing license.
  • Excellent report-writing skill is a requirement
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Hausa

Job Title: Deployable Humanitarian Funding Manager (Business Development Manager)

  • To sustain its engagement with children affected by crises, our Humanitarian team is currently recruiting committed humanitarian experts to deploy 9 months of the year to various emergency contexts.
  • This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our Core Surge team and to support children and their communities around the world in building resilience to increasing disaster risks.

The Opportunity

  • The deployable Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior surge capacity resource to be deployed to countries to support emergency response activities and to develop a funding strategy in line with the Emergency Response Plan. The role coordinates all proposal development.
  • The deployable BDM will work with the Business Development team in-country to write proposals that speak to the overall strengths and capabilities of the country response while coordinating and incorporating the inputs from technical advisors, programme units, MERL, finance, HR, Supply Chain Management, partnerships, and security.
  • The deployable BDM is expected to stay closely informed and updated on current donor strategies and interests in the humanitarian space that are relevant to Plan International.
  • The deployable BDM will liaise closely with the Global Humanitarian Team department and Programme Delivery and Resources (PDR) department, and with the different National Organisations (NOs), in-country donor representatives and other stakeholders (NGO partners) to identify funding opportunities.
  • The role maintains and develops relations with in-country donors and Plan International National Organisations.

The Requirements

  • Extensive and proven experience in writing successful donor proposals.
  • Extensive humanitarian fundraising and networking experience.
  • Experience in coordinating successful proposals with meaningful participation and inputs from implementing partner organisations.
  • Experience in establishing and managing consortium bids, with both national and international NGOs.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of donor funding requirements and policies and their practical application.
  • Knowledge of key humanitarian principles and programme areas including, child protection in emergencies, education in emergencies, and cash and voucher assistance.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project cycle management.
  • Experience of on-the-job knowledge and skills transfer to team members.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong training development, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills and experience using software applications and grant management systems.

Location:

  • This role will be deployed 75% of the time to Plan International’s country programmes and home-based when not deployed.
  • This can be flexible where Plan International has an office that can employ on behalf of the Global Hub and you have the pre-existing right to work and live.
