THE UNFALTERING DISPOSITION OF HON. DR. IPALIBO HARRY TOWARDS THE POLITICAL SUCCESS OF RT. HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI, A Sacrifice Of Inestimable Value – Hon. Worgu Boms Esq. Read Full Article

Apart from one person I personally and absolutely knew very, very well, had an almost unbearable pressure to dump the then Governor Amaechi and jump on the Wike/Jonathan/PDP platform, as did Danagogo and Uwom, one other was Dr Ipalibo McDonald Harry (Ipally). Continue Reading

He was the second to be under such pressure. The pressure was from a quarter and a source higher than Wike and almost at par with the Presidency.

.

The pressure that he should leave was daily and laced with some tinge of blackmail.
And it started almost when the crises started.

Ipally would have been the first to go.
He was not undecided: he was decisive in his view that it would be wrong to do so then.

He gave them his reasons. He was not wavering: he made it clear to the SOURCES that “he couldn’t abandon Amaechi at this stage when he needs all the support”

.

Modesty, civility, and respect for others’ sensitivities and sensibilities (traits I hold dear), won’t allow me, against my nature of being detailed in narratives, to name the persons mounting the pressure.

It was not Minister Wike as he then was, it was persons far higher then even Wike and Amaechi combined, politically!

Hon. Dr. Ipally didn’t budge and made it clear at one of the Executive meetings, when the issue of leaving came up, after Danagogo and Uwom left, that it would be wrong to associate with such.

That Government, as all of us knew, was thoroughly harassed by Wike and Jonathan, such that every atom of help was needed.
Ipally leaving would have been a dent.
He didnt!
He remained throughout without blemish, till the end, even being drafted into the security committee for the Dakuku-for- Governor efforts.
In that new assignment, Dakuku himself can attest to his commitment and industry.

.

In government then, there was not one single colleagues of mine that I didn’t have a respectable relationship with, as to know what is true about such person, politically.

If Dr. Ipally had behaved typically and heeded the calls, he would have been everything, I repeat, everything that any politicians crave:
Minister, Ambassador, Commissioner,
SA to president,
DG this and that etc etc.
The only thing he wouldn’t have been were Governor or President and Vice.
This is true.
He probably would have been Deputy Governor, but
Ipalibo remained here and unfortunately for him, “integrity” here has a weird meaning.

Immediately the same independence of mind laced with good home nurturing, which made him decide to remain in APC made him to express support for Magnus within the same APC, Hon. Dr. Ipalibo was dubbed “a man without integrity”.
We all read that view of him here!

What do you make of such a situation?

How do you get on in such environment where the definition of character and integrity is raised to the point where even Buhari himself, Mr Integrity, would fail the test?

Happy Birthday,
Hon. Dr. Ipalibo Macdonald Harry.
